De familia noble comenz\u00f3 su vida militar con 17 a\u00f1os.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-ast-global-color-7-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-9aec2ebfb4d27f932dbd721030c22b1c\">En 1810 fue nombrado comandante general de Soria, consiguiendo varias victorias. Si bien es considerado un h\u00e9roe de la guerra de la independencia, lo cierto es que, ante la llegada del ejercito Franc\u00e9s, decidi\u00f3 volar hasta los cimientos la fortaleza y las murallas de Soria para que el enemigo no pudiera hacerse fuerte.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-ast-global-color-7-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-5fcdbb3ee48470ffb43425e7540c20d2\">Es por eso que hoy Soria no puede disfrutar de su castillo o del que fue el recinto amurallado m\u00e1s grande de Europa, siendo sus murallas de dimensiones similares a las de Jerusal\u00e9n.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Jos\u00e9 Joaqu\u00edn Dur\u00e1n naci\u00f3 en Cervera del Rio Alhama (1754) cuando a\u00fan pertenec\u00eda a Soria.
